Q I would like to consult a document from the NRIB library.
A Please view the NRIB library collections on our home page. There you can search the library collections. If you proceed as prescribed, everybody can consult library (Hiroshima office) collections. Please contact info@nrib.go.jp for further details.

Q Is it possible for anyone to participate in the NRIB lecture ?
A At NRIB, we hold lectures around May time each year. The content of lecture is mainly concerned with the latest research results, and they are open to all those who are interested to participate. Prior to the NRIB lecture, related details are displayed on our home page.

Q When are theNRIB facilities open to the public ?
A NRIB Hiroshima office participates in the facility opening event (hosted by the Hiroshima Central Science Park Research Exchange Promotion Association) of the Hiroshima Science Park, which is held around October and November time each year. On this day, you can look around the research facility, with easily understandable explanations from each division concerning the research results. Please request information on the opening schedule to info@nrib.go.jp

Q Is there any way to access previous NRIB research results ?
A Academic theses released in the past have been organized as a Research Report (Report of Jozo-Shikenjo, Jozo-Kenkyusho, and NRIB) each year. Research papers, which do not go on sale, are donated to relevant universities and organizations in each prefecture. It is possible to consult all the papers in the NRIB library.

Q I would like to obtain NRIB public relations and information magazines.
A Public relations and information magazines are accessible on our home page.

Q Is it possible for outsiders to use the NRIB research facility ?
A Please see the section concerning use of the research facility in the Guide to the NRIB on our home page. Those who belong to other research organizations can use the testing and research facilities and equipment owned by our institute (with charge) in accordance with the regulations governing the use of our research facilities, for the following purposes: 1) Research & Development and 2) Education and Training. Please contact info@nrib.go.jp for further details.

Q What are the qualifications to become an NRIB research student ?
A This is introduced in the NRIB student recruitment section on our home page. The following individuals are qualified to enroll in NRIB as research students.
1. Individuals having graduated from related departments of brewing in University (including junior college)
2. Engineers of groups organized by public offices or alcoholic beverage manufacturers (Brewing associations shall be based on laws governing management of liquor tax and those applicable to the alcoholic beverage manufacturers' association, in accordance with Law No. 7 in 1953)
3. Individuals who have completed training in alcoholic beverage brewing at NRIB
4. University students currently taking courses in the department listed in 1 and recommended by their university.
5. Individuals not covered in the above-mentioned categories, but recommended by their own groups etc.

Q How much does it cost to stay as a research student at NRIB ? Are any allowance and salary paid?
A Research students, under the guidance of our research staff, mutually assist in conducting NRIB investigation and research, so it is free of charge. No allowance or salary are paid to research students.

Q Is it possible for foreign citizens to become research students ?
A It is possible to accept foreign citizens subject to the consent of the Executive Director, if they fulfil the following conditions:
1. Individuals taking courses in brewing-related departments in overseas universities and recommended by their university
2. Those who graduated from related departments of brewing in overseas universities and benefiting from a scholarship from their country
3. Those who are currently engaged in brewing related research at overseas universities and institutes and also recommended by their universities/institutes.

Q I would like to know numeric statistics regarding the consumption and sales volumes of alcoholic beverages.
A The National Tax Agency and Regional Taxation Bureaux offer statistical information on their home pages. Their URLs are on the Links page of our website.

Q I would like to obtain information concerning alcoholic beverages on sale (product-related information).
A We recommend that you visit the home pages of alcoholic beverage manufacturers and sales companies or search the web using a search engine. Relevant general information is also provided on the home pages of the related parties(their URLs are shown on the Links page of our website).
